All Heauslers are OK. My mom and sister Joanie made it to Tampa and are staying with Buzzy and Gail. Karen and Paul are staying with us in Kansas City and have enrolled their son Marc in high school here. Broz and Nancy are in Baton Rouge. Boo and Martha in Abbyville/Morgan City, LA. Boo will likely visit BSL on Sat 9/10/05. Heausler houses in New Orleans likely OK and dry. See below for info on how to help or recieve help. Contact as noted below.

We are looking into, and identifying, specific needs and methods of providing help for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, particularly in the Bay St. Louis, MS area - an area that we know well and where two of my family's houses were destroyed.
Items intially will likley include sending tarps and other construction materials via UPS to my brother, Boo, who is nearby in Abbeyville, LA.; and funding a truck of supplies from Ohio which is is being organized by the in-laws of US Congressman Gene Taylor (D-Mississippi) Janet and Carroll Gordon. Congressman Taylor's house was also destroyed.
We have offered money for these items and will be offering more money for specifc identified needs as they arise, both small and large.
We have opened a bank account at Premier Bank, Kansas and are collecting money for this aid to the Gulf Coast. If you wish to contribute, you may make checks payable to Katrina Relief Leawood/BSL and forward them to us. Donations will be tax deductable. We will acknowledge receipt and eventually reply to you with an accounting of how the money was spent, and a desription of how your money helped. Please provide your email address on your check if possible. We are also setting up a direct deposit or wire transfer for convenience. We will provide more information on that soon.
We truly appreciate your genorosity and willingness to help those whom we know. The outpouring of concern and support has been overwhelming. Thank you.
