Summer racing program
Okay Folks,
Now is the time !!! The BWYC Summer Racing Program has boiled down to the next four weekends. Will you be there ? There is a program description on the BWYC webpage.
When you come, bring all the screwtop milk bottles or hippity-hops that you can locate since all the mark vendors are out of stock. We will have window sashes for anchors.
Does anyone know when to show up ?
Judy

Sunfish North American Championship
Sunfish NAs...short story...
BWYC sent Judy Reeves, Nick Doty, Cindy Cady (DNS), and the Edwards Trio (Todd, Anne, and Clinton). 62 boats participated.
Nick participated in both Jr and NAs. He finished third overall in Jr NAs. He also finished 39th overall and was second in the Alcort division. He was just four points from first in the Alcort division. A Stieffel won this division many years ago!
Judy raced in her first big Sunfish regatta. She finished 35th overall and finished 2nd in one race. It was reported that she "woohooed" after crossing the finish line.
Anne won the last race, finished 10th overall and was Top Female.
Todd finished 9th overall. He did flip multiple times in one race after hitting the mark. He has some nice pictures of this scene.
Clinton...finished 6th overall and also was elected the US Sunfish Class Association President.
Other Gulf Coast highlites...Tom Whitehurst (PBYC) finished third overall. Peter Wuerscher (SYC) finished 19th overall and was Top Grand Master. Hank Saurage (SYC) finished 8th overall.
Paul Foerster, Olympic 470 Gold/Silver/Bronze medalist, won the event.

Notes From Your Board of Governors
· Stickers for boats & trailers. Any member’s boat and trailer should have a sticker. Please put the stickers on the port (left) forward side of the boat and trailer.
· There are too many boats stored on club property. If you have a boat and/or trailer on the grounds it must have a BWYC sticker. The 48 hour parking is not for storage. If you need a dry storage area, contact the club and rent one. We have to clean this up soon. Please help us make the area useable again.
· There are too many non members using the club and facilities. If someone is your guest, you must accompany them. Guests are only allowed once a month.
· Dogs must be on a leash.
· We made some changes to the Harbor Rules and Rental Agreement. If you have a slip, please come in and sign the new packet.
· BWYC will host the Annual Sportsman’s Club Kids Fishing Rodeo on July 15.

Challenge Cup
I offered a while back to work on a team, but there didn't seem to be much interest. Perhaps we could still try to do something, but it's late and many of our sailors have committed to other clubs. Let me know if someone is interested in helping to put something together. By the way, Challenge Cup is in Pensacola this year.

DEACON JOHN DANCE, JULY 1ST
I spoke to Deacon John Moore last month to make sure everything was a go for our annual dance the 4th of July weekend, and he's good to go. (It wouldn't seem like the 4th of July if we didn't have him and his band here to rock, roll and party). He was fortunate and didn't fare too bad in Katrina, although many of his band members and family suffered losses and damages.
We've rented a tent and will have an old fashioned block party outdoors -- so, ladies and gentlemen, be prepared -- it's gonna be hot!
Tickets are $15.00 per person in advance -- and $20.00 at the door (or thereabouts)!
The music will kick off at 9:00 p.m. and end at 1:00 a.m.
Look forward to seeing you!

July 4th Weekend
We are looking forward to seeing everyone over the July 4th weekend and celebrating the holiday in BSL, as always!
The whole Tanner family is going to make the trip and we are looking forward to catching up.
I also wanted to let everyone know that there is a 5k Run and Walk, "Race to Rebuild", at 7am on Saturday, July 1 to benefit OLA. It should be a great event... check out www.ourladyacademy.com to enter online or download an entry form.
See you soon!
