Wed April 26

Hi Folks,

Clinton has drawn #8 for the race on the 26th and there are two other scots available. The sails will be in the boats unless the weather is horrendous. Please return all sails back to the same sailbags they were originally in and leave them in the boats, pushed up forward as much as possible. Clinton, please will you score the race as I will not be there.

Sears Semi Finals

Does anyone know where the Sears Semi-finals perpetual trophy is? I think it was a plaque with a wooden gavel on it maybe? Thanks!

Wed Night Race on April 12

Hi Folks,

We had a great one !!!! The course was start, JR 3, JR 1 , YC 2 for finish. Malin headed a very competent race committee. Clinton sailed with Nick Doty and the editor of Sail Magazine and worked his way into first on the beat. Bernie had a bad start, over early, but scooted to first at JR 3. Judy wimped her way down the first leg and rounded third at JR 3 and solidified that position in the rest of the race. Hugh Finlason has a beautiful sail in Hugh Penn's trimaran. The third hull seems to be slowing him down but surely he enjoyed the race. There was a good crowd at the grill your own after. The deck provided a great view of the full moon.

See you next week ! There are three scots available and three more that could be whipped into shape. The new fleet sails should be here soon. Let's get some more boats out there !!!

Wed April 12

Hi Folks,

For the Wed night Race on April 12, Bernie has boat 8 and Judy has boat 6. Boat 7 is clean but needs the mast stepped. Boat 9 is not too bad but needs cleaning and boat 5 is full of leaves and needs a mast. We have three suits of sails besides the Capdevielle sails. So number 7 could be used if someone wants to finish getting it ready. The sails ordered from Schurr might come in soon and make more boats available.

State of the Bay

Three people have gone sailing without hitting any objects in the bay. Wednesday evening Bob Davis and Judy Reeves sailed the initial Wed Night Race over to #1 and back in his Magregor 26. A week ago Bernie went out to #1, then towards #3 and back to the club with no incidents in Scot #8. Weeks ago, Artie Geary sailed his cruising boat on the Bay with no incidents.

Let's go folks, it is time to sail. Next Wednesday, the 12th will be beautiful, with the almost full moon coming up early. Call me to get into the Scot drawing. We will draw on Sunday anad post results here and at the club. If you draw a boat and do not show, your name is mud. We have only three that are ready to go. We need folks to adopt 5,7,and 9 and get them ready to go. Oops, Judy, Bernie and Relie Roussel (not a member) cleaned out 7 but the mast needs stepping. Clinton and Todd stepped the masts on 8 and 6. Thanks.

Call or email Judy to get on the drawing list. Sign up to take care of a boat and get it ready and you can sail it this week. Judy's phone 342 6811 email jreeves@datasync.com.

GRILL YOUR OWN & WED NITE RACING

This coming Wednesday, April 12, we will have a grill your own since, according to Judy, "it will almost be a full moon". Racing will start at 6:00 p.m. and there are three (3) Flying Scots for sailing. Call Judy at 228-342-6811 if you want a Flying Scot.

We will be attempting to do baked potatoes and salad, so check with us Wednesday. Come on and join us.
